I pulled  over on the side of the road on my way home from work so I could take this photo. I just couldn’t pass up this beautiful moment.
A few days ago my best friend Corinne pointed out how fall is the one of the most beautiful times of the year, but in reality that beauty comes from everything dying for the upcoming season.
If you think about it this reflects our walk with Christ. As we get further and deeper into our relationship with Christ, we began to lose our old leaves/habits and our colors/hearts begin to change. As our flesh dies we begin to grow and mature until we don’t look anything like what we used to from the previous season.
Then comes winter. With winter we lose that beautiful color and we have to endure through the cold and storms. But there is always something we can’t see keeping us standing, keeping us alive during hard times. That is our Savior, even when we feel ugly or ruined, He is keeping us alive no matter how dead we might seem. He’s there breathing life into us until that beautiful day in spring when we become a whole new creation in Him and we thrive and grow into something we don’t even recognize. That is when a tree can begin to spread it’s fruit and share it’s seeds effectively.
I guess what I’m saying is there is so much beauty in death, both physically and spiritually. When we surrender ourselves and our hearts over to God there is a stunning transformation ahead of us. When we let our flesh die, and His spirit take control of our lives, only beauty can come from it.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
