Just Breathe

I chase after one thing: My Father's heart.

Morning Glory

Every morning when I was in Haiti I would wake up earlier than everyone else so I could go up to the roof and watch the sunrise over the mountains (which was completely gorgeous). I took that time to start my day in the word and just spend some time with the Lord. The first morning we were there He spoke to me very clearly, and my hand couldn’t write fast enough for what he was saying to me. I just want to share a bit of what I wrote down that morning in my journal.

“These are my people and nothing you see here will be like anything else. I have my hand on them. Thats why I sent you. You are part of my plan Charity. you are here so I can show my great works, sufficient love, grace, and mighty power through you to Haiti. Humble your spirit and turn your heart, eyes and ears to me and watch me work and use you. Remember I handpicked you for this, you didn’t choose me, I chose you and that’s why you are here.

Trust that when you stretch out your hand to heal, I will heal. When you go to pray, I will turn and listen. When you begin to cry i will come and sweep you up. When you laugh I will rejoice right along side of you…And when you step on the plane home, I will compel you to come back.”

This may not seem like a whole lot to you, but when the Lord told me this I was overwhelmed with his awesome presence and glory. He is so good, and to think that I can be used by him is a privilege and an honor. He is so amazing. It is all for your glory. Every day.

Little piece of my journal this morning. :)

Refine Refine Refine

Two weeks ago one of the ladies in my mom’s prayer group was praying for me, and she shared some really cool stuff with me that the Lord showed her. It makes me mindful of where my heart is at and really excited for where the Lord has me right now, and where he is taking me.

“People see the glory of the Lord in you. But you are like a piece of metal that God is refining inside a fire. The only way a refiner knows that his work is done and is ready to come out, is when he can see his reflection in the metal. Right now you’re in a fire, and the Lord is perfecting things in you. When you come out, you will be a leader of many. You will leave footprints of gold dust when you pray for people. But be careful of pride and don’t let it enter into your heart. This verse is for you: Malachi 3:3-4”

Malachi 3:3-4

“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years.”

Websters Dictionary:

Refine: 1. to bring to a fine or pure state; free from impurities

             2. to purify from what is course, vulgar, or debasing; make elegant and cultured.

             3. to make more fine, subtle, or precise

I have been changing and growing so much and it’s exciting for me. God had shown me this in my heart already, but it’s really cool how He will use other people to keep you encouraged and continue to direct you on the right path. In no way do I think I’m going to be perfect, but I am being “perfected”. He is pouring His time, love, and craftsmanship into me. The last thing I want to do is get prideful and give myself any credit, because it’s all by and through my Father.

You are so beautiful Abba. Keep me here and change my heart to be like Yours until you see Your reflection.

Sins as Weeds and Rotting Trees

This is something the Lord was showing me as I was praying and writing in my journal today and I thought I’d share it.

“My heart is a grass valley with one large dead, rotten tree right in the middle of it. Around the tree are all these weeds. They are very thick around the base and become more sparse as you get further away from the tree.

I have been trying to pick all the weeds (changing the “easy” sins in my life), but as one weed is picked, it either grows back in time, or another one grows back in it’s place. I get rid of a few here and there but they are ultimately there because of this rotting tree. Nothing but weeds can live by this tree because it’s sucking the life out of everything.

So getting rid of the small weeds will not work, and what I have to do is get rid of the tree. This dead, rotting, disgusting, stench filled tree that is stealing my own life from me.

So how do I get rid of it God?

I (God) allowed you Charity to pull those weeds with your own might, and look what happened. They grew back because you could only reach the surface. I however, I can reach the root, where you on your own might cannot go. If I uproot this tree, all the weeds around it will be uprooted too because of how long and deep you have let this tree’s roots grow. If you submit to me, I will uproot the tree, but you cannot try to hold onto anything in this valley because you have let the stench of a rotting tree settle into everything. If I pull it up the valley is gone……

but in it’s place I will breathe new life. No longer a valley, but a garden full of life. Green grass, flowers, and plants all planted by my hands. And in the place where a dead tree once stood a new tree will stand. A tree of life. That is where I will dwell in your heart Charity, planted and rooted firmly so no man can move me. I will be the water, the LIVING water that will be feeding, nourishing, and growing the rest of the garden I have planted in you.

But only once you surrender to me will this garden grow. My glory is too great to live and dwell in anything letting itself rot.

So let me take the tree. Hand it over to me. Stop worrying about the small weeds busying yourself trying to pick them, and let me take the root.

You are my child, and nothing is too big for me.”

Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. -Revelation 22:14
