Just Breathe

I chase after one thing: My Father's heart.

Anonymous asked: How are you so happy? I'm also a Christian, and i thought I knew what I wanted to do when i grew up. Now I'm not so sure... I'm not incredibly good at anything, and i always have this feeling that there's something more, something I can't see or find. Being a Christian, I don't understand this feeling... I read my Bible almost everyday, pray constantly, I thought I had a good relationship with God. But I just... can't be happy. I feel like there's something more out there. Can you help?

I have been in that place where I wasn’t sure what to do. I wasn’t sure where God wanted me, and I felt lost. But today I know that I stand in His will, and I’m exactly where He wants me, and that’s all because I spend time with Him asking what He wants of me. Psalm 48:14 says “For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.” You can take comfort in the fact that you don’t have to figure it out on your own. You don’t even have to make it happen on your own and that’s most likely because you can’t……but He can, and He will because of how much He loves and cares for you. Don’t worry about trying to figure it out, instead dedicate every day, every hour, every minute, every breath of your day to Christ, and you will see a change, a true transformation. Just make Him your only focus.

I would also like to say that I’m not happy ALL the time but I am ALWAYS fulfilled in and through Christ. Proverbs 19:23 says “the fear of the Lord leads to life: then one rests content, untouched by trouble.” If you are striving to be happy on your own, I’m just going to be dead honest, it’s NEVER going to happen. True happiness doesn’t come from within yourself, or other people, or things, or what career path you take and that’s because all of those things change and fade away. Hebrews 13:5 says, “keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you.” The Lord isn’t going anywhere so again focus in on Him, and he’ll change that heart of yours. He’ll bring you that joy and lay your spirit at rest in Him.

All in all, if you aren’t feeling close to Him, if you aren’t feeling fulfilled, if you’ve lost your joy and you’re just feeling lost, you probably aren’t 100% focussed on Him.

Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you;he will never let the righteous fall.
